Volunteer Based NPO
Since October 7th, 2023, our dedicated team of more than 450 volunteer crisis counsellors and shift supervisors has been tirelessly staffing our chat hotlines in Hebrew and Arabic, operating at unprecedented levels to provide vital support to Israeli citizens experiencing acute emotional distress. During Israel’s most significant mental health crisis to date, SAHAR remains the only organization in the country offering round-the-clock mental health support via chat in Hebrew, alongside six hours of daily support in Arabic, strengthening Israel’s social and mental health resilience.
All volunteers are highly trained in text-mediated counselling and crisis intervention, with a focus on delivering sensitive and effective emotional support during stressful and traumatic situations.
Looking ahead, we anticipate that demand will continue to rise as more Israelis seek help in the aftermath of the brutal attack on Israel and the prolonged war that followed. Your support is essential in enabling us to meet this growing need and to provide timely, professional, and life-saving assistance to those in distress.
